Specifics of Enrollment (Class Hours):

Registration.  Size of classes is purposely kept small; therefore, they fill rapidly.  We suggest you register early.

Multiple Choice.  Since classes fill quickly, we ask you to give us a 1st and 2nd choice of class and dates.  We will give you your first choice whenever possible.

Notification.  As soon as you register you will receive a written confirmation of your class and a Washington Island map/brochure/car ferry schedule.  3 weeks prior to your class you will be sent:  1. list of materials you will need to bring, and the cost of any materials that will be supplied to you by your instructor; 2. student policy sheet; 3. class agenda; and 4. names and addresses of students who will attend class(es) during that time.  If you have registered for housing with us, you will also receive a housing information sheet.

Cancellation/Transfer.  Any student who needs to cancel a registration for a class must let us know 4 weeks before the first day of class to get a full refund (minus a $25 processing fee per class cancelled).  Students who cancel less than 4 weeks before the first day of class will receive a 50% refund of the class fee.  There is no refund once a class has begun.

If it is necessary for Sievers School to cancel a class for any reason, all registered students will be notified immediately and extended the opportunity to register for another class.  Students who do not wish to transfer will receive a full refund of all fees paid.

If a registered student wishes to transfer to a different class, there will be a $25 processing fee, if the switch is made 4 weeks or more before the first day of the original class.  If a student wishes to transfer less than 4 weeks before the original class, they will forfeit 50% of that class fee.

Adult-Oriented Instruction.  To facilitate the learning process and instruction, no children are allowed at the School.  No pets either!  Sievers reserves the right to refuse registrations from participants who have a history of disruptive behavior.

Materials Fee.  If applicable, the materials fee is payable to the instructor the first day of class.  (The fees now listed in the Class Listings descriptions may vary slightly at that time, to reflect current market prices)

Equipment.  We supply most of the basic equipment needed for your class. We do not supply sewing machines on a regular basis, although we do have a limited number of them available for rental. Contact us for further information. Looms, spinning wheels and related accessories are provided here for your use.  You may bring your own loom or spinning wheel, but any equipment you bring MUST BE IN EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER.
